Planning & Consent

West of Orkney Offshore Application

Scottish Ministers have now granted offshore consent for the West of Orkney Windfarm.

Our full submission can be viewed below, and includes applications for consent under the Electricity Act 1989 and marine licence applications under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010.

Accompanying these is an extensive suite of assessments based on survey data collected over two and a half years.

Following the submission of our offshore consent application The Scottish Government requested additional information in early 2024 to enable them to determine the application.

This is commonplace for Scottish offshore windfarm applications, and we submitted this additional information which clarified key points raised during consultation and provided further comprehensive evaluation as part of the consenting process in October 2024.
